Geofence investigations use proprietary software to create a virtual boundary around a geographic area, such as an accident scene, serious loss, or catastrophic event. Investigators then harvest, review, and analyze GPS‑tagged social media posts, comments, shared content, photos, and videos within the geofence to identify unknown witnesses, participants or viewpoints, reconstruct accident scenes, and track movements of parties before, during, and after an incident.

These investigations reveal location‑based content not available through regular social media searches and include identification of witnesses and their contact information. Geofence investigations are particularly valuable when a claim involves multiple participants or when verifying the sequence of events is critical.
