A Legacy of Dedication and Expertise as an Investigator & Business Owner
As I step into my 42nd year as an investigator and celebrate three decades as the owner of Claims Bureau USA, Inc., I find myself filled with pride. Our company’s strength lies in our dedicated employees, many of whom have served for over twenty years. Their commitment and expertise form the backbone of our operation.
I often say that investigation is not brain surgery, but our team includes some remarkably intelligent individuals who would excel in any field. The heart of our operation has always been an investigation—meticulously examining details and taking pride in our work. I can still hear my father’s voice, urging me to do the job right, whether I was raking leaves or shoveling snow. A World War Two Marine, he instilled in his five sons the values of determination, hard work, and treating others well.
Early Beginnings and Valuable Lessons
My journey began by knocking on doors, engaging people in conversation, and making inquiries to uncover the truth. Over twelve years as a field investigator, I tackled every type of case, learning valuable lessons from a brilliant mentor, Robert Mulcahy. His insistence on precision turned me into a skilled investigator and writer. He used to joke I was born to investigate but I missed English class, as I revised my reports multiple times on my own dime before they were shipped.
Customer Loyalty and Word-of-Mouth Referrals
Despite the passage of four decades, our customer base remains loyal, and word-of-mouth referrals continue to bring in new clients nationwide. While other industry players invest heavily in sales and marketing, we rely on our employees’ creativity and resourcefulness to provide answers. We do not waste time or money on efforts that do not directly benefit our customers in mitigating claims.
The Value of Thorough Investigation
Mr. Mulcahy’s favorite saying—“nothing ventured, nothing gained”—resonates with us. Often, overlooked interviews or inquiries hold the key to substantial savings for our clients. Think of those surveillance reports you receive that have numerous leads and are never pursued. Having a talent that recognizes these leads is crucial to getting the whole truth in an investigation.
The industry has changed over the years as some clients order cookie-cutter investigations. As my folks know, I could go on at length on why these are not helpful to the client. Each case is different and requires an individual approach. Give your case to someone who cares and is driven to get you the answer.
Training for Attention to Detail
Training our employees to think in detail has far-reaching effects. It sharpens their analytical skills, enhances their problem-solving abilities, and fosters a mindset of continuous improvement. Whether they are investigating insurance claims, unraveling corporate fraud, or simply managing their personal affairs, attention to detail becomes second nature.
Adapting to a Fast-Paced World
In the fast-paced world we live in, where information overload is the norm, honing our ability to sift through data and identify critical points is invaluable. Our employees learn to ask the right questions, dig deeper, and connect unrelated dots. Our goal is to get the truth and to get it in an efficient manner. The old-fashioned way still works and talking with folks to learn more will never be out of style.
Empowering Our Team
As an investigator, I have witnessed firsthand how this training impacts our team. It is not just about solving cases; it is about empowering individuals to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Whether they are negotiating a contract, troubleshooting a home repair, or planning a family vacation, thinking in detail sets them up for success.
Commitment to Curiosity, Precision, and Excellence
As we move forward, Claims Bureau USA, Inc. is committed to fostering a culture of curiosity, precision, and excellence. As investigators, we are always learning and developing new techniques to get the answer. I believe my Dad and Mr. Mulcahy would be quite proud of what we have built and have sustained. My hope and belief is that the business will thrive for another 68 years.
